The La Jolla Village Merchants Association (LJVMA) is recruiting Village businesses to host one of 12 monthly networking events scheduled for 2027.

The association published its full 2027 networking calendar on Tuesday, Sept. 8, listing a rotating lineup of Business Breakfasts, Next Gen Networking sessions and Mix & Mingle Happy Hours. The series begins with a Business Breakfast on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2027, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and wraps with a Mingle Jingle Holiday Social on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2027, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Each event is expected to draw 40 to 60 local business owners and professionals, depending on the format, according to the LJVMA's calendar posting.

The association said it is looking for La Jolla restaurants, hotels, galleries, retailers and other Village businesses willing to open their doors as hosts. In its announcement, the LJVMA said hosting lets a business showcase its space and put its offerings in front of dozens of local professionals.

The rotating format is not new. In 2025 and 2026, the LJVMA held networking events on the fourth Tuesday of each month at venues across the Village. A Next Gen session at Prospect Ink on Prospect Street and a Mix & Mingle at Piazza 1909 were listed as 2026 hosts in the LJVMA's May board agenda.

Past turnout has topped projections. The December 2025 Mingle Jingle Holiday Happy Hour at Beeside Balcony drew more than 60 attendees, many of them first-time LJVMA event-goers, according to the association's December 2025 board agenda. A Business Breakfast hosted by Flowerpot Café and Bakery in August 2023 also topped 60, according to the association's August 2023 board agenda.

Spots fill fast.

The 2027 calendar lists events on the fourth Tuesday of most months. Business Breakfasts run from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in January, April, July and October. Next Gen Networking sessions run from 6 to 8 p.m. in February, May, August and November. Mix & Mingle Happy Hours run from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in March, June and September.
