Bishop's shut out La Jolla Country Day 35-0 on Friday, Sept. 25, in the Coastal League opener for both schools.
Across town, La Jolla High fell 35-18 to St. Augustine in the Vikings' Eastern League opener, dropping to 1-4 on the season.

The Knights scored early and never let up. Bishop's led 7-0 after the first quarter, then poured in 21 points in the second to take a 28-0 lead into halftime, according to MaxPreps. Neither team scored in the third quarter before Bishop's added a final touchdown in the fourth.
A. Maye carried the offense. He completed 7 of 12 passes for 53 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions while rushing 12 times for 48 yards and three more scores. Z. Hornby hauled in two catches for 17 yards and a touchdown.
The Torreys, coached by Carmy Cesaire Jr., were shut out for the second time in three games. La Jolla Country Day fell to 3-3 overall and 0-1 in Coastal League play. La Jolla High blanked the Torreys 26-0 on Sept. 11, and Trinity Valley beat them 49-28 on Sept. 4.
Bishop's improved to 3-2 overall under head coach S. Walton. The Knights opened the season with losses to Valley Center and Christian but have won three of their last four, including a 45-7 rout of Coronado on Aug. 28 and a 21-7 win over Don Lugo on Sept. 12.
St. Augustine 35, La Jolla High 18
The Vikings' lone win this season came against La Jolla Country Day on Sept. 11. La Jolla High has struggled to slow opposing offenses, allowing 30 or more points in three of five games, including a 52-25 loss to Point Loma on Sept. 4.
St. Augustine improved to 2-3 overall and 1-0 in Eastern League play. The Saints had lost their first three games before beating Mater Dei Catholic 41-21 on Sept. 18.
La Jolla High fell to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in league.

La Jolla High hosts Scripps Ranch in an Eastern League game on Friday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. Bishop's travels to Coastal Academy the same night at 7 p.m. La Jolla Country Day does not play again until Friday, Oct. 16, when the Torreys host Coastal Academy at 7 p.m.
